Tо lose weight and increase my self-esteem wаѕ а goal I hаd іn mind for over 10 years.

​YES, I was always tired and couldn’t keep up with my grandson, I hated buying new clothes because I knew I always had to buy the extra large-size...  and YES, I was also good at denial!


I promised myself that I would make changes soon, but somehow I always found good excuses to postpone getting started


I only realized that I was in very bad shape one Tuesday afternoon when I went to help my daughter arrange her new apartment.

 

I had to go up the stairs all the way to the 9th floor because the elevators were not working 


That's when I had a mild heart attack and in the ER, the doctor told me that I was considered obese and that my weight had brought on cardiovascular damage.

 

My blood pressure was 180/115, my cholesterol and my blood sugar were so high that I was also considered a pre-diabetic.

 

The doctor told me that unless I lost 40 pounds really fast, I could suffer another heart attack and die!

 

That was the wakeup call that transformed the next 2 months of my existence into a living hell!

 

How was I going to tell my grandson that I might not be around for his next birthday? 

I didn’t think I was unhealthy, simply just getting older and going through menopause and all the changes it was causing to my body ….  


I became so scared and worried about my health that for the first week, I couldn’t even sleep at night….


For the next 2 months, I tried different fitness programs and crazy diets, wasting hundreds of dollars on things that didn’t work.


Because of the massive wave of depresion that came over me and all that stress, I gained another 7 pounds...

 

When I looked at the scale, I took a deep breath and when I exhaled, tears started flowing.... 


And in that moment the phone rang …  And that phone call, led to the breakthrough I had been waiting for my whole life!
